1. What cookies are

Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, signed URLs, and provider event identifiers. They can keep a session secure, remember preferences, measure use, and connect an eligible conversion to a referral or program.

2. Necessary cookies and storage

• Session and authentication: keep a signed-in account associated with the correct browser session.
• Security and CSRF: protect forms and requests from forgery, abuse, replay, or unauthorized changes.
• Consent: remember the cookie choices you make.
• Theme, language, and display preferences: remember settings such as light/dark mode or locale.
• Checkout and workflow state: preserve a safe, time-limited state while you complete registration, an application, or payment.

Blocking necessary cookies can prevent login, form submission, security controls, and account workflows from operating.

3. Referral and attribution cookies

When a visitor follows a valid Crown Affiliates referral parameter, the platform may store a first-party referral_code cookie for up to 60 days. Individual programs may disclose a different window and attribution rule. Program-specific links may also carry a program identifier and use the attribution window disclosed on that program. The cookie does not itself create a payable commission.

Attribution can be affected by deleted or blocked cookies, cross-device use, private browsing, browser limits, invalid traffic, duplicate events, direct return visits, provider delays, and program exclusions. Crown Affiliates uses provider and platform evidence to reconcile eligible conversions.

4. Analytics and advertising technologies

Optional analytics or advertising tools may be enabled to understand performance, prevent fraud, measure campaigns, or improve the product. When consent or an opt-out is legally required, those tools will be governed by the available choice mechanism. We do not treat a cookie banner as permission for processing that the law requires you to be able to reject.

5. Third-party providers

Payment, email, video, analytics, social, or embedded-content providers may set or read their own cookies when you use their service or content. Their policies govern those technologies. Avoid embedding third-party tracking into Brand or Affiliate content unless you have authority and provide any required disclosure or consent.

6. Managing cookies

Use the Crown Affiliates consent control when shown. Your browser also lets you delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies. Deleting referral cookies can prevent future attribution. You may also use privacy controls offered by enabled analytics or advertising providers.
